AD Home Design Show Recap

THG-Paris just returned from the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York City where we unveiled three new designs and other stand out collections to a wide range of attendees including architects and designers.

This was THG’s first year exhibiting at the AD Show, and we were thrilled with the feedback. The booth remained busy for the entire show, and many attendees said that our booth looked like a curated museum. Attendees liked our specially designed pedestals with the latest collections, as well as our inviting vignettes. THG’s luxurious quality and beautiful designs were also easily recognized and captivated attendees as they walked the show floor, with many attendees coming into our booth to take a closer look and to touch and feel the beautiful solid brass designs in bath fittings.

This year, we introduced two refined interpretations of the industrial age, Beaubourg and Saint-Germain, as well as a new contemporary series, Metamorphose designed by Olivia Putman which also incorporates ceramic and fine carbon fiber into its optional lever handles. Here is some more information about our newest designs at the show:

Métamorphose is a study of transformation; a representation of art and pure craftsmanship, taking organic forms into geometric shapes and back again. Each faucet design begins with a cylindrical piece of brass which moves to a subtle square and ends in a round shape, resulting in a fluid, contemporary and unique bath design never before translated into architectural plumbing fixtures.

Designed by Olivia Putman (THG’s second series designed with Studio Putman), Métamorphose is a stunning representation of THG’s meticulous craftsmanship, ingenuity and expertise. In addition to its graceful, unique design, fine ceramic and space-tech carbon fiber traditionally used in fine jewelry and watches are incorporated into its optional lever handles.

Saint-Germain and Beaubourg

Saint-Germain and Beaubourg are inspired by the American Industrial Age. Each vintage design incorporates the look of elements found in factories and workshops in the 1950s, including industrial pipe, fittings and raw iron.

Saint-Germain and Beaubourg are true departures from THG’s regular offerings; while they both embody an industrial edge, each design instills the classic, refined details expected of the luxury brand. In true THG design fashion, industrial becomes chic and sophisticated with understated elegance and simplicity.

Saint-Germain is a radically new design with strong features that are dramatically different than THG’s traditional bath fixture collections. This series elegantly marries the look of raw iron, industrial steel bolts, tie-rods, washers and fasteners together with vintage levers and valve cross handles to create this nostalgic collection. With defined edges and a narrow spout reminiscent of piping with washer detail, the handles feature prominent octagonal nut accents with the same feature at the end of the spout (which is also a functional piece, as it serves as a removable aerator).

The Industrial Age is reborn with the Beaubourg series, a refined interpretation of the industrial genre that incorporates the look of factory hardware, cast iron pipe and fittings, but goes a step further by finishing each element with round curves and soft, beveled edges. Each cross handle or lever sits on top of a spool-like base, resembling a loading dock pulley system, and the low, curved spout mimics a hub-and-pipe system. Accent details include subtle grooves on the handles and at the end of the spout. The result is an authentic, sophisticated and timeless design.

THG-Paris and Christofle Intimate Reception

The Christofle Studio recently held an exclusive, private reception for their VIP clients to celebrate Christofle’s exquisite bath fitting collections in collaboration with THG-Paris: Collection O by Studio Putman and Collection Malmaison.

Located in West Hollywood in the center of the Design Quarter in Los Angeles on Melrose Place among the hottest designers – and restaurants, the Christofle Studio was also excited to unveil their new, remodeled studio as well as the permanent installation of Collection O by Studio Putman in their guest powder room. The newly designed space is completely remodeled with beautiful new carpeting and soft patterned fabric on the walls, creating a European elegance. The new “studio” layout gives designers a comfortable atmosphere to work on their current projects.

The intimate event brought out some of the most prolific designers in the area including Fernando Diaz, Jean Pinto, Suzanne Furst and Beth Hakes. Hosted by Ofelia Keller and Janette Buenrostro of Christofle Studio and Juan Martin of THG-Paris, guests sipped champagne and enjoyed light hors d’oeuvres while they learned about the inspiration and expert craftsmanship of Collection O by Studio Putman and Collection Malmaison.

A good time was had by all!

THG Debuts Downtown Chic Style for the Bath

THG-Paris is proud to announce the Downtown Collection, a selection of new and existing signature designs with an urban aesthetic. This avant-garde collection features designs from some of the most prolific names in the design industry, including Jamie Drake, Olivier Gossart, Andrée Putman and Alberto Pinto. Using simple and sleek lines, pure curves and subtle shapes, every design in the series incorporates the same manufacturing standards that sets THG apart. Take a closer look at the standout designs below.

Introduced just last spring, the Anoa collection blends natural horn with brass to create an inviting, contemporary design. The widespread lavatory collection offers a contoured, angular spout, as well as a delicate, curved high spout. Skillfully crafted by combining eye-catching metal with delicate clear or black buffalo horn, Anoa has achieved a perfect marriage of these materials with remarkable finesse.

Also introduced this past spring, the Nano collection’s quiet, minimalistic design guides the water gently with seductive refinement. With a contemporary, sleek appeal, Nano’s clean style is perfect for any bathroom design. The faucet’s minimalist shape creates the impression of a fluid strand of polished steel contoured with a gentle curve.

Collection O
Collection O by Studio Putman combines the talents of Christofle, the late Andrée Putman and THG. An embodiment of modern luxury, the famous ring was designed by Putman for Christofle in 2002 as part of the Vertigo collection. Her daughter, Olivia Putman, who heads Studio Putman, was instrumental in this striking reinterpretation. A beautiful, sculptural and fluid design, each ring twists at the bottom with a rounded effect and is used as a discreetly functional element in various areas of each bath fixture.

Le 11 by Alberto Pinto
With impeccable form and simplicity, THG’s Le 11 was created by the late Alberto Pinto, one of France’s pre-eminent tastemakers and legendary designers. The streamlined fixture’s enigmatic name refers to a mythical address which was located near Pinto’s practice and studio in central Paris, just near the Place des Victoires. As water flows from the spout, the fitting’s waterblade forms a perfect and harmonious 90 degree angle.

Contemporary and possessing a clean classic design, Spirit is a welcome addition to the modern bathroom. The Spirit’s grace makes a simplistic yet refined statement and has become a new standard in transition.

SO. puts a refreshing, updated spin on a long-time brand favorite and represents a collaboration between THG and French designer Olivier Gossart, best known for his dramatic hotel and residential interiors. The retro-modern waterfall spout is paired with Gossart’s updated vision of faucet handles in crystal, laser-engraved with “CHAUD” (hot) and “FROID” (cold) — bringing a high-tech, whimsical touch to the bath.

Defined by bold lines and crisp edges, Beluga is a perfect complement to the modern bathroom and a dramatic architectural statement through its simple yet sophisticated design.

As part of THG’s Cristal de Lalique Collection, the Bambou series is distinct in character and elegance. Contrasting shapes and textures create a dramatic yet beautifully sophisticated statement. Satin-finished crystal and elegant bamboo motifs gracefully compliment the bold contours of the spout. In addition to satin-finished clear crystal, the Bambou series is also available in Lalique satin-finished black or amber crystal.

The Profil faucet was designed for THG by the legendary designer Jamie Drake, whose designs showcase a penchant for the traditional and American glamour. The eyes are drawn to the sculptural handles of the Profil, embellished with inlays available in Lalique clear crystal, Lalique black crystal, and black onyx or metal.

Create a modern, architectural statement with the simple yet sophisticated designs of the Pure Collection, part of THG’s Contemporaine Collection. All THG products are meticulously handcrafted and available in more than 35 finishes.

Regal Elegance: Designs Inspired by the Craftsmanship of Fabergé Eggs

Regal Elegance: Designs Inspired by the Craftsmanship of Fabergé Eggs

In 1885, Tsar Alexander III of the Russian Imperial family commissioned jeweler Peter Carl Fabergé to make a bejeweled Easter egg as a wedding gift for his wife. It delighted the empress so much that Fabergé was commissioned to make these opulent eggs for her every year thereafter. Fabergé’s fame as a master craftsman quickly spread throughout Europe, and his legacy lives on to this day.

Embodying exceptional craftsmanship, elegance and luxury, THG-Paris is world-renowned for its exquisite, hand-crafted faucets and accessories for the bath, including these striking collections inspired by the lavish look and meticulous craftsmanship of Fabergé eggs. Each element is created by true artisans who tool, cast, mold and finish each piece using celebrated techniques passed down through generations. In fact, THG was recently awarded the prestigious French “EPV” quality label (a “living heritage company”), a recognition by the French Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry. THG joins the few hundred companies that have been recognized for their rare savoir-faire as a symbol of French excellence. This commitment to excellence is apparent in each meticulously crafted collection below.

Part of the Cristal de Lalique collection, the Panthere series has a distinctive character and elegance. Oval eggs in black crystal are adorned with gentle carvings of panthers in their habitat. Also available in clear crystal, textured handles are topped with a smooth, delicate surface followed by the Lalique imprint etched in brass. Each series is complemented by a complete bathroom suite of matching fixtures and accessories constructed of satin-finished crystal, solid brass and precious metal finishes, including gold, sterling silver, bronze and rhodium silver.

Part of the Bernardaud Collection, Marquise features world-renowned Bernardaud porcelain – a brand that is well known for their elegant chinaware. The Marquise collection, composed of elegant faucets and coordinating accessories, is made up of a rounded spout accompanied by spherical handles, which are adorned in a dignified bay leaf garland. Handle décor is available in platinum or gold. The collection also features coordinating accessories such as dishes, vases, round and square pillboxes, candle holders, cups and soap dishes.

Part of the Prestige Collection, Vogue perfects the delicate combination of crystal and precious stones. This luxury bath series features a multitude of gem stone colors, including Amethyst, Blue Lapiz Lazuli, Red Jasper, Brown Tiger Eye and Black Onyx.

Ornate and noteworthy aptly describes the jewel-encrusted luxury design of Cheverny. Shown in Blue Lapiz Lazuli, Cheverny embodies royalty with its intricate detailing and jewel-like construction. Cheverny is available in a variety of colors and comes in more than 35 hand-polished finishes with coordinating products and accessories.

THG’s Menagerie Of Luxury

Lions, Swans and Delicate Starfish Adorn the Bath

Offering beautiful and unique bath fittings for more than half a century, THG presents some of their greatest collections incorporating graceful swans, ethereal starfish, mystical panthers and the majestic lion.

As part of the Baroque collection, Cygne is sure to add elegance and style to an opulent bathroom. In the shape of a delicate swan, the etching on the solid brass faucetry shows that no detail is left ignored. The Cygne adds enchanting glamour to the bath and is available as a complete bathroom suite, which includes a tub filler and coordinating accessories. Available in more than 35 finishes, the water gently pours from the Cygne with graceful beauty.

Nothing is more luxurious than a waterfall – especially one in your own home. The Cristal de Lalique Oceania waterfall bath fixture is visually stunning and inspired by the sea. The arched spout mimics a gentle wave, while the Cristal de Lalique handles feature a life-like starfish sculpture in clear satin crystal. Designed with impeccable standards of craftsmanship, their harmony of style adds an effortless touch of splendor to any bathroom suite.

Part of the Cristal de Lalique Collection, the Pantheré series has a distinct character and elegance.
